Things to Do

Things to Do at Goat Rock!

At Goat Rock there is plenty to do to keep everyone occupied.  With 200 acres of bushland, granite boulders and enormous fig trees to explore and plenty of birds and wildlife, even the most basic nature lover will be content for hours on end. Goat Rock itself allows panoramic views of the Dumaresq River valley and is a beautiful spot to watch the sun come up or go down. Tours to other parts of the property can be arranged with several gorges and rock formations that are fascinating to see and explore.

Bushwalking

There are no designated tracks at Goat Rock however there are plenty  of acres to cover.  Granite boulders and bushland cover  part of the camping ground with lots of unique rock formations to explore.  Goat Rock itself  is an  easy walk to the top with panoramic views of the Dumaresq River valley.  The Balancing Rock doesn't touch the ground at all and sits precariously on only a few smaller rocks.

Farm Animals

Children and adults alike love to feed and pat our chooks, ducks, geese, goats, sheep & miniature ponies.  If your lucky there might be baby chickens, ducklings, lambs and kids.   Children love to 'help' with the chores  and Easter long weekend especially, we have set feeding times for the animals so everyone can give a helping hand!

StarGazing

There is nothing better than lying back on a comfy chair or on a blanket on the ground and looking up at the stars on a clear night trying to identify and pick out the various constellations and stars.  Goat Rock is great for stargazing as there is no light pollution  to interfere with viewing the night sky.  There is a  range of online resources and apps to help with your discovery of the night sky.

Native Flora & Fauna

Goat Rock has plenty of native locals who wander around the camping ground including kangaroos, wallabies, emus, parrots and other numerous birds.  Bird watchers are often impressed with the number of species found in our area.
